Printable Watch Strap Ruler & Lug-Width Gauge
No calipers? Print this page to get a true-size millimetre ruler, a gauge with bars from 16 to 24mm for checking lug width, and a bank-card box to confirm it printed at the right scale.
How to print it at the right size
- Print on A4 or US Letter with the scale set to 100% or Actual size. Turn off “Fit to page” or “Shrink to fit”.
- Check the result: a bank or credit card should exactly cover the width of the dashed box (85.6mm). If it doesn't, your printer scaled the page.
How to use the lug-width gauge
Lay the watch face-down with its lugs straddling a grey bar. The bar that fills the gap between the lugs exactly, with no light either side and without having to force the watch down, is your lug width, and that's the strap size you buy. If one bar is slightly loose and the next won't fit, choose the looser one: a strap a touch narrower than the gap is fine; a wider one is not.
For a finer reading, use the ruler across the inside edges of the lugs, or try the on-screen ruler. Then look your watch up in the strap size finder to confirm, or check the strap size chart.
